Beginning & Ending of each Yoga session:

Sat Nam
Sat Nam

Beginning:

We start our classes with (Aadi Mantra) three times

Ong Namo, Guru Dayve Namo, and right after that we chant three times: Mangala Charn Mantra: Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Namhe, Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh

Ong Namo calls on your consciousness to become subtle and receptive to its Higher Source.

Ong is a sacred sound or mantra. It represents the creative power of the Universe that is also within every one of us, and this is often associated with the concept of divine energy. Namo means I bow to! So Ong Namo means I bow to the creative energy of the universe. Guru means wisdom, or teacher. It is the embodiment of Infinite. Gu also means darkness, and Roo means light or knowledge. Gur means a formula to systematically attain a goal. A Guroo is something that gives you gur to transform your gu to roo!

Dayv also means divine, Guru Dayv means divine teacher

Guru Dayv Namo calls on the subtle wisdom, the divine teacher that I bow to and that guides us in an impersonally personal manner.

Mangala Charn Mantra:

Aad Guray Nameh: I bow to the primal Wisdom

Jugad Guray Nameh: I bow to the wisdom pervading through ages

Sat Guray Nameh: I bow to the True Wisdom

Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh: I bow to the Great, Unseen Wisdom

Ending:

May the long time sun shine upon you

All love surround you,

And the true light within you

Guide your way on, guide your way on, guide your way on.

And a long “Saaat Naam”; Saat means truth, Nam means my identity; “Truth is my identity”
